The sequel to our debut episode is here! Episode 102: America First- Part 2 picks up where we left off and dives into the birth of the “America First” ideology, including its roots in post–World War I paranoia, the Red Scare, and the cultural backlash against immigrants, radicals, and modernity. From the Russian Revolution to the Wall Street bombing, we trace how fear of anarchists and socialists fueled nostalgia for a mythic “pure” America that never existed. Marshall, Blake, and Mike explore how this fear forged political movements, shaped racial and cultural hierarchies, and echoes through the slogans and scapegoats of today.
